VidTag Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VidTag handles your information. VidTag is developed by Tbone Apps.

Summary

VidTag does not collect your personal information. Your videos, titles, years, descriptions and artwork stay on your device.

There is no account or sign-in, and no advertising, analytics or tracking.

The only online activity is handling your subscription, if you choose to subscribe.

What VidTag does

VidTag is developed by Tbone Apps. It lets you edit the title, year, description and cover artwork stored inside a video file, in the same way a music app tags an MP3.

Your videos and artwork

You choose a video using your phone's own file or photo picker. VidTag reads it and writes the changes entirely on your device.

  • Android: for most video types the tags are written into the file you picked. For some types that cannot hold every detail (for example AVI, FLV, WMV, TS and MPG), VidTag asks you first, then saves a separate tagged copy (MP4 or MKV) in your Movies folder. Your original file is not changed.
  • iPhone: VidTag creates a tagged copy and opens the iPhone share sheet so you choose where to keep it, such as Files or Photos.

Your videos, images and their details are never uploaded. We have no server, and no copy of your files leaves your device because of VidTag. VidTag does not ask for access to your whole photo library; it only receives the items you pick.

Accounts and sign-in

VidTag has no accounts. You never create a profile or give us an email address to use the app.

Purchases and subscriptions

VidTag includes five free tags, then offers a yearly Premium subscription for unlimited use.

  • Payments are handled by Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iPhone). VidTag never sees or stores your payment details. See Google's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.
  • On Android, VidTag uses RevenueCat, a subscription service, to confirm and record purchases. RevenueCat receives purchase information such as which product was bought and an anonymous identifier it creates for the app. It does not receive your name, email address or payment details. Like most online services it may also process technical information such as your IP address. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
  • VidTag stores on your device only whether you have an active subscription and how many free tags you have used.

You can cancel at any time in your Google Play or Apple ID subscription settings.

What we do not collect

VidTag contains no advertising or analytics tools and does not track you. We do not collect your name, contacts, location, browsing activity or advertising identifiers.

Children

VidTag is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and deleting data

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to delete. Your tagged files are yours: delete them in your own files or photos app. Subscription records are held by Google, Apple and RevenueCat, and you can manage them through those services or by contacting us.
